Watch X-Men: First Class Streaming - Story Notes & Kevin Bacon's Character!

Bryan Singer has dropped some knowledge on everyone and revealed some points about X-Men: First Class and what we can expect to see in the movie.

Some of the points aren't exactly ground breaking as we had to assume some things when we started hearing about casting and characters.

Other points though are pretty cool.

The first thing mentioned is that the movie will be set in the 1960's and center on the early relationship between Charles Xavier and Erik Lehnsherr. This isn't huge news. When we heard that James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender would be playing the characters we knew that it meant the story would be told from an earlier point.

The next point is that Xavier won't start the movie in the wheel chair, or bald. This is pretty cool, especially since Singer says that we will see the cause of Xavier's paralysis. And it means that by the end of the movie we should be seeing a bald McAvoy.

A quick point is that there will be no Cyclops of Jean Grey in the movie. That's a little sad, but there are so many other characters that will be in the movie that it shouldn't feel like a big loss in the end.

Probably my favorite point is this one, the Hellfire Club will be represented and we will see Kevin Bacon as Sebastian Shaw and, the recently announced, January Jones as The White Queen, Emma Frost. We knew that Jones was cast to play Frost, but this is the first word on the actual character that Bacon will play in the film.

I know it's a lot to take in all at once. But this is big stuff friends. X-Men: First Class is aiming to reboot a franchise that had a great start and I believe has a strong chance to reclaim that quality and love from the fans.

Watch X-Men: First Class Streaming - 3 New Casting Announcements!

As I promised, there is more news from the casting front with X-Men: First Class.

The first announcement is certainly a smaller one with 10 year old Morgan Lily stepping in as a young Mystique. It kind of surprised me that they have her in the story so young when we also know that Jennifer Lawrence will be playing a teen-aged Mystique in the movie as well.

The second announcement is that 15 year old Bill Milner will be playing a 15 year old Magneto. That may be where little girl Mystique comes in, they do seem to have some serious back story between them. But again, I'm not sure what the angle is.

The third announcement is that Zoe Kravitz, daughter of Lenny and Lisa Bonet, has been cast in the movie. The word is that she will be playing the role of Angel. A character with no connection to any of the characters that we already know.

However, there are strong rumors that this could be a casting misdirect and I've read that some people think that Zoe could be stepping into the role of Storm as played by Halle Berry.

I like that idea.

So there you have it, the second dose of X-Men news for the day.

Watch X-Men: First Class Streaming - Casting Note!

Just 2 days ago we talked about the newest casting decisions that have been made for X-Men: First Class.

And now today it seems that there has been a change in direction in a role that we thought was handed out a long time ago.

In late June it was strong rumor that Alice Eve would be getting the part of Emma Frost in the movie. And the more time that passed without anything being said about it, the more I figured that it was probably a rumor based in fact.

However, the news is now that January Jones will be playing Emma Frost in the upcoming X-Men flick instead.

Now, I'm a big fan of Alice Eve, so I'm a little disappointed. But the film makers have done a good job of picking their White Queen. There is no doubt about that.

Ms. Jones is famous for her role on Mad Men and is a very beautiful woman. With her skills and looks I'm sure that this is going to be a decision that everyone is happy with in the end.

Also, it's been reported that Oliver Platt has joined the cast of X-Men: First Class as well and will be playing the role of The Man in Black. There has been no character description given for Platt's role other than he will not be a villain or a mutant. The general feeling is that he will be a government agent of some sort.

And, I'm still waiting to find out what the official word is on the villain part that Kevin Bacon will be playing!

Stay tuned for more information as X-Men: First Class gets closer to filming.

Watch X-Men: First Class - More Casting News & Rumors

With only weeks (reported last week) until the start of filming on X-Men: First Class there are still casting announcements being made.

The most recent hard announcement is that Jason Flemyng has been cast as Azazel, father of Nightcrawler. This is another example of characters coming from myth to the big screen for the First Class movie. There will be characters that movie goers have never seen or heard of before.

My recommendation is to check out Wikipedia.

The second rumbling is that Rose Byrne is coming to the cast to play Moira MacTaggert. Previously it was rumored that Rosamund Pike was going to play the part of MacTaggert after Alice Eve got the role of Emma Frost.

But it looks like that has fallen through, though I haven't been able to find out why at all.

Either way, with things getting close to starting, be prepared for more news probably more than once a day.

Watch X-Men: First Class - New Cast Member... Again!

There's another new cast member being added to X-Men: First Class and this time it's another lesser known mutant.

Edi Gathegi (The Twilight Saga) will be playing Darwin in the flick when it starts filming.

If you haven't heard of Darwin don't feel bad. I'll give you the really quick rundown. I'm not going to go into his history. But when it comes to abilities Darwin is in good shape. As the name may suggest, Darwin has the power of "reactive evolution" so when the going gets tough, Darwin can react and adapt.

The example given on Wiki is that after being in a dark room for a few seconds Darwin will gain night vision.

So, there you have it. Another in a growing list of mutants on board for X-Men: First Class!

Watch X-Men: First Class - Jennifer Lawrence Interview!

Yesterday we talked about Jennifer Lawrence playing the part of Mystique in X-Men: First Class.

And today we have an interview that Lawrence did with Roger Moore of the Orlando Sentinel.

It's a pretty fun interview and Lawrence seems genuinely interested and excited to be playing the part of the sexy blue mutant.

Give it a read for yourself and see if you feel better about the casting decision that has been made.

Enjoy!

“Oh my GOSH! I thought I had a whole year to PREPARE, you know, play the role, wait, and then have the movie come out. Just get used to how big a deal it might be.

“Usually, when you make a movie, there’s just a title and that doesn’t do much of anything for anybody. Even if it’s a Scorsese movie. Nobody knows what that title is about.

“I’ve never done a movie where the title alone makes people go a little crazy.”

How crazy?

“I just got off a plane from London. I was going through Customs, and the guy asks ‘Business or pleasure?’

And I say ‘Business.’

And he says ‘What kind of business?’

And I say ‘Movie. Meetings over a movie.’

And he goes ‘Oh, What movie?’

‘X-Men.’

And he goes ‘Get OUT! They’re doing another X-Men? Oh my gosh, who are going to be?’

‘Mystique.’

‘SHUT UP! Mystique? She’s HOT!’

“And I’m like, ‘Okaay. Can I get through Customs here?’

“I had nooo idea. I have been just ignorant of the whole fan base behind these films. I felt like an idiot. I had to call my mom and go, ‘Mom, I don’t KNOW about all this. This is before we’ve even started shooting, and it’s just CRAZY.’

The starlet, who turns 20 in August, had been surfing the wave that Winter’s Bone put her on back at Sundance when she read for the part. She landed it and THEN decided she’d better bone up on the character.

“When I got the part I dedicated a whole day to watching all three movies, and I really liked them. I was still a little worried, because I didn’t really understand the whole mutant thing. But the script cleared some of my questions up, and knowing that James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender were already on board gave me confidence.”

She had meetings with Vaughn and Co. in London this week. Today, it”s “I have to do 12 hours of prosthetics. Oh man.

“I have to take Mystique back to the beginning, before she became who we saw later. I don’t know exactly what I can talk about, but this is going to be fun.”

She says the prep work is physical, which knowing Mystique’s image, we can believe. Gym time. How does she look in blue?

“NOBODY looks good blue. Well, maybe Zoe Saldana. I am very curious to see how I’m going to come off in that suit.”

Watch X-Men: First Class - Mystique Cast!

A while ago I prematurely speculated that Amber Heard was going to be playing a younger version of the mutant known as Mystique. However, it now seems that Jennifer Lawrence will be playing our favorite blue painted female.

For what it's worth, I'm inclined to believe this news as the IMDB.com listeing for X-Men: First Class has Lawrence listed in the role.

So everyone, meet Jennifer Lawrence, your new Mystique.

X-Men: First Class - Bacon?!

Kevin Bacon
So, the new report is that Kevin Bacon has been signed up to play a villain in X-Men: First Class.

So far there is no word on the character that Bacon will be playing. But there are rumblings from the superfan community that it could/ should be Mister Sinister.

Kevin Bacon is a big name to toss into this picture seeing as how there are so many young actors and actresses taking on the early versions of your favorite mutants.

But, maybe that's exactly why they brought him in.

Only time will tell.

Stay tuned for more Kevin Bacon news and information about everything else X-Men: First Class that we can find.

X-Men: First Class - Willow?!

It looks like there could be another new mutant on set when X-Men: First Class starts to roll.

Rumors are hitting the airwaves Erica Hosseini could play Willow. If you don't know Willow, don't feel bad. She has a very similar skill set to that of Mystique with the exception being that her facial markings remain when she shape shifts.

She seems pretty jazzed about the potential of getting the part saying "I was auditioning for a role named Willow. It's a role similar to Mystique from what I understand. Potentially lots of body paint, so that would be really fun."

So, now that we don't know who Beast is going to be because Benjamin Walker is gone, maybe we do know who Willow is going to be.

Stay tuned for more info as we go along.

X-Men: First Class - Casting Change!!

Ben Walker

Word has come through the pipeline that Ben Walker has opted out of the role of Beast in X-Men: First Class to reprise the role of Andrew Jackson on Broadway.

I'm a little bit bummed about the change because after looking at the photo of Walker I really could see him in the make-up and blue coloring of Beast.

I guess now we wait to see who will replace him in the film, or if the character will just be written out.

I hope that's not the case... but we'll see I suppose.

Stay tuned for more information on the casting and other such information as we can get it!

X-Men: First Class - More Casting Rumors!

Banshee

Honestly, the casting rumors for X-Men: First Class just won't stop!

Yesterday we talked about Alice Eve playing the role of Emma Frost. And today we are hearing that little known Caleb Landry Jones will be playing the role on Banshee.

Jones has a small part in The Social Network and is most famous for his small part at the end of No Country For Old Men when he gave his shirt to Javier Bardem to use as a sling.

Banshee would be a new addition to the X-Men line-up, but that doesn't really surprise me. I'm sure there will be a lot of first time appearances in this origin story.

Stay tuned for more information as it comes to light.

X-Men: First Class - More Casting Rumors!

Hey there my friends, there's a fresh new rumor out there concerning the cast of X-Men: First Class.

The rumor is that Alice Eve is in talks to take on the part of Emma Frost for the new movie.

Eve is best known for her part as Molly in She's Out Of My League.

I think that she would be a good choice to add to the rest of the cast that has been rumored and confirmed so far including James McAvoy as the young Professor Charles Xavier.

We should soon know whether or not the rumor is true as the film should soon start filming.

X-Men: First Class is scheduled for release June 3, 2011.

X-Men: First Class - More Casting News!

Okay, so in my excitement to write about the Michael Fassbender as Magneto rumor I totally forgot that I heard something else about the casting of the movie.

Benjamin Walker (Flags of our Fathers) has been tabbed as the furry genius Dr. Hank McCoy/ Beast.

This news excites me much the same way as the Fassbender rumor does, it means we're one step closer to filming the movie. And in turn we are one step closer to photos, info, stories and then trailers.

Walker even looks like he could be a furry beast if you look at his picture long enough. Give it a try.

X-Men: First Class is set to hit theaters June 3, 2011.

X-Men: First Class - Magneto Casting News

Listen up friends.

Word is that actor Michael Fassbender (Inglorious Basterds) has been offered the part of a young Magneto for X-Men: First Class. The only problem is that he has also been offered a role as a villain in the Spider-Man reboot and he can't do both because of scheduling conflicts.

I'm hoping that he chooses X-Men: First Class if for no other reason than that would mean that they are one step closer to getting this bad boy on film.

I also think that he would look pretty good opposite James McAvoy's Professor X.

Stay tuned for more news, notes, photos and eventually trailers from X-Men: First Class leading up to the June 3, 2011 release.

X-Men: First Class - Casting News/Rumours!

Ladies and gentlemen, it looks like the director Matthew Vaughn has found 2 of his leading ladies for X-Men: First Class.

Rumour has it that Amber Heard (Zombieland, The Stepfather) will be playing a younger version of Mystique than we have ever seen before. It’s unknown how central Mystique will be to the story in First Class, but having her in there isn’t a terrible idea.

Also, there are some men of the opinion that Amber Heard will look quite good in Rebecca Romijn’s blue paint. I’ll leave that decision up to you.

The second rumoured casting note would see Rosamund Pike (Surrogates) in the role of Moira MacTaggert. MacTaggert is a Scottish scientist who specializes in genetic mutation and wins a Nobel Prize because of her work in the field. She may also be shown as a former love interest of Charles Xavier (James McAvoy).

With a scheduled release date of June 3, 2011 X-Men: First Class will probably be giving us lots of rumours and confirmations in the near future.

Stay tuned!

X-Men First Class - Casting Update

James McAvoy to play a young Professor X

With the release date for X-Men First Class still set for June 3, 2011 names have started to surface for the cast.

James McAvoy (Wanted, Atonement) has been tapped to play Charles Xavier pre-Professor X, which looks to be a great choice from where I’m sitting.

And Aaron Johnson (Kick-Ass, The Illusionist) seems set to play the part of Erik Magnus Lensherr before the days of Magneto.

With the story centering on the early years and relationship of these two characters you can expect to see a lot of them on the screen together.

Also, I smiled big time when I saw that Jane Goldman (Kick-Ass) is on the writing team for X-Men First Class. She’s pretty awesome. Check her out.

Keep coming back for more info as I can find it!

Watch X-Men First Class on June 3, 2011

Mathew Vaugn will be directing X-Men: First Class, 20th Century Fox's successful franchise. Vaugn has also set a date for the film, release should be expected for June 3, 2011. With such short notice of him directing, the release date means crunch time for production.

Here's a quick description of the film by 20th Century Fox:

"X-Men: First Class, following the classic Marvel mythology, charts the epic beginning of the X-Men saga. Before Charles Xavier and Erik Lensherr took the names Professor X and Magneto, they were two young men discovering their powers for the first time. Before they were archenemies, they were closest of friends, working together, with other Mutants (some familiar, some new), to stop the greatest threat the world has ever known. In the process, a rift between them opened, which began the eternal war between Magneto’s Brotherhood and Professor X’s X-Men."
